Yoyo-Ma I was extremely proud to welcome Yo-Yo Ma to Christchurch and play a part in his cause to stimulate the conversation around our Wai (water) and other social impacts. Māori was aware of the responsibility to ensure our waterways were cared for, and traditional practices were always for the preservation of the mana (prestige) of wai (water), as the mauri (life force) for all living things. Thank you for the opportunity to display this kaupapa (topic) amongst a very familiar Christchurch scene, along the unmistakable banks of our Ōtakaro, Avon river.
